How can I change my order after it’s been placed?

We aim to ship your bags within 24 hours. To cancel or change an order, you can contact us by email at onlineorders@manhattanportage.com or call our corporate office at (212) 925.1085 ext.100 with your order number, last name, and specific changes that you want to be made. Please make sure the subject line reads 'Change Order'

How do I do an exchange or refund?

Any item purchased from Manhattanportage.com can be returned within 60 days of the shipping date for an exchange or a full refund of the price of the bag. Expenses for shipping the merchandise back to Manhattan Portage are paid by the customer, unless the reason for exchange or return is due to an error by Manhattan Portage (e.g. wrong item/color).

All items must be returned in the same condition they were received (unused, unwashed, undamaged, no odors), with the original tags attached, along with the sales receipt. All promotional items included with the order must also be returned in its original condition. Please fill out the Exchange and Refund form included in your shipment and send it back along with the items to :

For refunds, your credit card will be credited upon receipt of the returned product. We refund the price of the bag, including taxes, but not including shipping. Credit card returns can only be refunded onto the original card used.

For exchanges, a new bag will be shipped out once the bag to be exchanged has been received. The cost of shipping the new bag back to you will be taken care of by Manhattan Portage. Please fill out the Exchange and Refund form explaining the need for exchange, what item you want to exchange it for, and include with it the original sales receipt that came along with the order.

The exhange and return form can be found here if you have lost the original that came with your order. Please right-click and choose save target as or save link as and download the word document.

Please note that the condition of returned merchandise is at the discretion of Manhattan Portage, any items judged not to be in the original condition may be disqualified for refund or exchange, or subject to a 15% restocking fee. All sale items CANNOT be returned for exchange or refund under any circumstances.

How do I clean and take care of my bag?

  • Normal soil may be removed with spray cleaner or detergent and water. DO NOT BLEACH.
  • Oil or grease should first be treated with a dry cleaning solvent, followed by a spray cleaner or detergent and water.
  • Do not machine wash/ machine dry your bag.
  • Do not have your bag dry cleaned.
  • Never force a zipper to close an over-packed bag.

What kind of warranty do you offer?

Manhattan Portage offers a Limited Lifetime Warranty against all manufacturing defects.

Yes, we do offer a LIFETIME WARRANTY against manufacturing defects. What does this mean? Generally, a manufacturing problem will occur before the bag is a year old, however there are exceptions. A bag that begins to fall apart after a few years of use is just a victim of normal wear and tear. While our bags do last a long time, nothing lasts forever, not even a Manhattan Portage Bag. Examples of normal wear and tear after a few years that are not covered are fabric abrasion, zipper wear, and foam breakdown. Don’t worry though; by the time any of this happens you should be ready for a new Manhattan Portage bag.

Our vinyl bags are very durable and can tolerate a variety of weather conditions, but do not have the same properties as our nylon bags. Please note that the vinyl we use, while hardy, is more prone to wrinkles and scratches when compared to our nylon, and should not be expected to maintain pristine condition after use.


Please note that machine washing, drying, or removing your Manhattan Portage label will void all warranties.

Bags returned for warranty service will be replaced at the discretion of Portage Worldwide, Inc.

Our Limited Lifetime Warranty does not apply to our Custom Graffiti Bags. These bags are hand printed in New York City, and should be treated with care in order to prevent damage to the artwork.

How long do your bags last?

Manhattan Portage bags are extremely durable, as they combine the finest materials (1000D Cordura Nylon by Invista, YKK zippers, Delrin buckles, etc.) with impeccable construction.

We use these more expensive materials so that your Manhattan Portage bag will keep up with your life, and not need replacing for many years to come.

Depending on how you treat your Manhattan Portage bag, you will keep it anywhere from 5 to 15 years. Some of our customers have kept their bags for over 20 years, but you may want a new color by then!

How do I purchase online gift certificate?

  • Gift Vouchers are purchased just like any other items in our online stores. They can be found in Gift Certificate menu. You can pay for them using credit card payment method.
  • Once purchased, the confirmation with the redemption code will be sent to your email address by our shipping department(NOTE: For Hotmail account, it might fall into JUNK MAIL box).
  • In order to use the gift vouchers, you need to redeem it

How do I redeem online gift certificate?

  • Once you receive our confirmation mail with the redemption code, Simply click the link contained in the email. This will lead you to Redeem Voucher page.
  • Your gift voucher balance is shown in the Shopping Cart Box in the right hand column of each page. If there are some items in the cart, gift voucher balance will be below the item lists.
  • Once redeemed, the gift certificate must be used within 6 months calendar year.

How do I use online gift certificate?

If you have funds in your Gift Voucher balance, you can use those funds to purchase items in our online store.
  • During the checkout process, on the Payment Information page, to use the funds from your gift vouchers, Tick "to use Gift Voucher account balance" box.
  • If your Gift Voucher balance exceeds the total cost of items purchased, the remaining balance can be used for your purchase in the future.
  • The amount in your Gift Voucher balance will be used as a discount for your credit card purchase if the voucher balance is not sufficient for the total cost.

How do I send online gift certificate to other people?

After you redeem your gift voucher , you can choose to spend the gift voucher for yourself or send it to someone else.
  • To send a Gift Voucher, you first need to go to our Send Gift Voucher Page. You can find the link to this page in the Shopping Cart Box in the right hand column of each page below your Voucher balance.
  • In Send Gift Voucher Page, specify your
    • Recipient's name
    • Recipient's email address (NOTE: You can only send to ONE email address)
    • Amount you want to send (NOTE: You do not have to send the full amount that you have but it must NOT exceed your Voucher Balance)
    • A short message to your recipient
  • After sending, the recipient will get the email with the redeem code for the amount you send.
