It’s Friday and you are ready for a fun weekend and full of energy, but maybe your wallet isn’t? New York is an amazing city but can be pretty pricey if you don’t know about the free activities that are packed in this city. From a casual picnic to rockin live music, there is something free for everyone. We picked some of our favorite free things to do in the Big Apple and had to share them with all of you. Happy Friday everyone!
1. The Brooklyn Academy of Music- Every Friday and Saturday night this awesome place opens its BAMcafe free to the public. The vibe is jazz and world beat. The fun and funky artists keep the crowd hyped and rockin all night long!
2.The American Folk Art Museum- Free Admission every Friday evening from 5:30-7:30pm. Get your culture on and gaze through the collection of contemperary art with a friend, date or go solo.
3. TheB.B. King Blues Club & Grillhas free admission every Friday at 9pm to listen to some pretty amazing Jazz music. Make sure to get there early because this place fills up fast!
4. Visit the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens for free all day Tuesday’s and on Saturday’s from 10:00 am- 12:00pm. This place is one oasis you don’t want to miss.
5.Have a picnic in Central Park! You can bring food from home and enjoy the beautiful park scenery with the city as the backdrop.
6. The Mark Bar in Greenpoint Brooklyn serves customers complimentary pizza and cold cuts every day of the week. On Sundays at noon, the bar also gives customers free coffee and bagels. Seems to good to be true, but it’s real!
7.Go To Bryant Park for a free outdoor movie screening! The films are every Monday at 8:00pm. Usually they are old classics but the genre ranges weekly. This is perfect for a date night or a fun evening with friends.
Hey guys! Are you tired of paying for over priced concert tickets? We are too. We found a pretty nice list of free concerts in NYC this summer and had to share them with you. There is literally music for everyone on this list- from classical to punk rock it’s all here!

If you live in NYC or you are visiting, don’t forget to check out the variety of bars this city has to offer. One of the best things about New York City is the fact that you can pick any type of atmosphere, food or crowd you want in a bar and find it around almost any corner.
Another great thing- the music! There is so much talent in this city, so when you go to a bar with live music you usually will be pleasantly surprised how talented the band is.
