Free Fun in New York City!

It’s Friday and you are ready for a fun weekend and full of energy, but maybe your wallet isn’t? New York is an amazing city but can be pretty pricey if you don’t know about the free activities that are packed in this city. From a casual picnic to rockin live music, there is something free for everyone. We picked some of our favorite free things to do in the Big Apple and had to share them with all of you. Happy Friday everyone!



1. The Brooklyn Academy of Music- Every Friday and Saturday night this awesome place opens its BAMcafe free to the public. The vibe is jazz and world beat. The fun and funky artists keep the crowd hyped and rockin all night long!

2.The American Folk Art Museum- Free Admission every Friday evening from 5:30-7:30pm. Get your culture on and gaze through the collection of contemperary art with a friend, date or go solo.

3. The B.B. King Blues Club & Grill has free admission every Friday at 9pm to listen to some pretty amazing Jazz music. Make sure to get there early because this place fills up fast!

4. Visit the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens for free all day Tuesday’s and on Saturday’s from 10:00 am- 12:00pm. This place is one oasis you don’t want to miss.

5.Have a picnic in Central Park! You can bring food from home and enjoy the beautiful park scenery with the city as the backdrop.

6. The Mark Bar in Greenpoint Brooklyn serves customers complimentary pizza and cold cuts every day of the week. On Sundays at noon, the bar also gives customers free coffee and bagels. Seems to good to be true, but it’s real!

7.Go To Bryant Park for a free outdoor movie screening! The films are every Monday at 8:00pm. Usually they are old classics but the genre ranges weekly. This is perfect for a date night or a fun evening with friends.

If you are a New Yorker.. or not, we think almost everyone can agree that pizza is a must have in life! New York is known to be one of the best places to find the best of the best in regards to pizza.. and it’s true!

Welcome to Eataly

If you love Italian food you may have just found your heaven. This 50,000 sq foot space includes 12 different restaurants filled with meats, cheeses, sea food, pasta, pizza, fresh produce, coffee, tea and don’t forget the gelato! Not only does this Italian heaven provide 12 different scrumptious restaurants, but they are all surrounded by 20 individual markets where you can purchase anything you are served. After all their motto is: “We cook what we sell and we sell what we cook.”

If 12 different restaurants and 20 unique markets wasn’t enough, Eataly also offers cooking classes taught by their famous chef, Lidia Bastianich for all food and wine lovers who want to improve their cooking and wine tasting skills. Check out the spring cooking class schedule here!

If you live in New York City and haven’t checked out Eataly yet, we would highly recommend it! Also, if you are coming to visit NYC make sure to stop in and check it out. Oh, and don’t forget to ask about the beer garden, which is located on the 14th floor!
