We are happy to introduce you to our latest featured retailer, Strand bookstore in New York City. Known as the worlds largest used bookstore with 55,000 sq feet of space, this is one bookstore you have to check out!

The Strand was opened in 1927 by a man named Benjamin Bass and was one of 48 bookstores that made up “Book Row” -which was a line of book stores from Union Square to Astor Place. Today the Strand is the only bookstore left from book row.

After 85 years the Strand is still a family business, owned by Fred Bass and his daughter Nancy Bass Wyden. With over 200 employees, a little over 2.5 million used, new and rare books and some of our most popular Manhattan Portage bags- this is a bookstore you have to check out!

The Strand even has a kiosk in Central Park that opens when the weather cooperates, located at the corner of 5th and east 60th.The main Strand bookstore is located at 829 Broadway on the corner of 12th street and Broadway and the nearest transit is Union Square.
